the hollow

a sexy and beautiful night for photography, probably

today i will experiment with starting a blog post at one point in the day and writing more later. this could be my approach for the 100 days to offload thing i'm trying. it takes hours sometimes to sit and gather ideas and write them as they come, so what if i made that a purposeful process?

i am very motivated to work on the hollow. i am putting permanence or potential absence of it out of my mind and carving. taking residence. i want this place to unfurl, which is a goal i've had and still have for other things, but especially for here and right now. i wanted to make the calendar, but i am blocked by having not decided what i'm going to do with it at all.

a goal of mine for 100 days to offload is to listen and document my inner monologue. that topic is for another post but i have noticed i can't always write the way i like to, and i think it has something to do with my flow of thoughts during different points of the day or something. so, i'm going in. previous to this goal, casually i have noted my inner monologue has more than one tone, more than one way of putting words together. i can't always tap into that fresh spring of water where hunting for words hardly involves laborious fishing, they just pop out.

i just finished sewing post it note like patches to my son's halloween costume, he's going as something called the drone entity. we had to get a suit with a light up stick man on it instead of a plain black suit because like every other parent on the planet we waited for the day before to shop. the felt at the craft store was in stock tho. it's funny how easy it is to sew and pull needle and thread through fabric, but how hard it is as well, getting everything tidy and secured right. i put my money in friction with this project and didn't tie up all the ends. it's for one night!

another goal for this blog, is to post on a whim. short and long form thoughts are all complete posts. i am glad i am writing these goals instead of giving myself secret rules.

i gave this post the tag thursday, which is silly to see hashtag thursday on the draft post lol. i also tagged it oct 29, the date without the year. listing thursday posts or looking back a year are both interesting options. i've wanted to try to make a five year journal before, this could be my in.

trick or treating was awesome, i had a moment in the bathroom before we were set to go but it passed and i was able to walk the entire time the kids tolerated it. we normally stay late but we left early this year and got home by 8pm.

my husband is talking about finally getting our things out of storage this weekend, so i really want to clean tomorrow. we have a surprising amount of stuff it's going to be annoying to find a place for. i also want to start a written to do list again, but i probably won't yet. i'm going to let the edibles make me crash and try not to demotivate myself by dreaming about how much work i'm going to get done tomorrow.
